Flat Refurbishment in Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Spectrum Decorating Services has recently completed a refurbishment project for a client living out of the country.

Having the flat previously rented out had left everything looking tired, so we were asked to give it a complete make over.  All the rooms were given a nice fresh look by going for a neutral colour on the walls and crisp new white woodwork to highlight the fabulous old features such as big sash windows and original panel doors.

Along with the painting, Spectrum Decorating Services also updated the old tiles in the bathroom that had previously been painted with tile paint some 10 years ago.  The old ones were removed and replaced with new white tiles to achieve a fresh look without major expense.

Spectrum Decorating Services also helped with arranging new carpet and lino to finish the whole refurb to an extremely high standard as promised.

Major Refurbishment of Period Property

Sunday, December 18th, 2005

Spectrum Decorating Services has been working in Surrey this week on a stunning old former mansion house.  The property was converted into appartments many years ago, and we were lucky enough to get the job to restore the former billiard room.

With many of the original features still in place, the emphasis of this project was to refurbish the old and replace as little as possible.

By far the largest task was to refurbish the recessed ceiling that would have once been directly over the billiard table.  The first job was to clean the eight different types of cornice, each one different from the last.  After was the stripping of the lining paper to reveal exactly what we had to deal with.  Luckily it was not to bad underneath and we were able to use a fine filler to obtain a perfect finish ready for painting.

With all the cornicing needing to be painted as well as the vast ceiling, we were quick to reach for our new addition to the team, the Graco Airless Sprayer.  This not only ment that the job was completed quicker but also allowed us to reach right into the intricate detail of the cornice with considerable ease.

The result was truly outstanding, with someone saying it looked like a giant wedding cake!
