Monday, October 26th, 2009

Spectrum Decorating Services has recently finished refurbishing garage doors in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

We used our Graco HVLP 4500 to achieve an excellent finish that withstand all the elements.

Rather than using a gloss paint we used Rustoleums CombiColour, which is more flexible than other specialist metal paints.

Rustoleum CombiColour is availiable in all RAL numbers and a number of different finishes.

Inspiration from Marrakech, Morocco

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

During a recent trip to Marrakech, Morocco I was inspired in the way they seemed to use colour outdoors.

Ok, so they have a much sunnier climate than we do but surely using bright vibrant colours as they do outside would help even our darkest, overcast days?

I’m already in search of a suitable project to get out the bright coloured paint!

Spectrum Decorating Services are currently working in Burwash, East Sussex.

The Grade II listed property is believed to date back to the 1800′s and was converted into seven apartments in 1993.

We are currently refurbishing the rear and sides of the property for Garstons Ltd, the freeholder.

Due to the age of the property we have come across numerous problems, mainly rotten sash windows, some of which have been beyond repair.  An example is pictured below.

The colours have been chosen by the client.  They are Johnstones – Mushroom on the main walls and Johnstones – Magnolia on the detailed sections of the building.

Colourful Scaffolding for Apartments in Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Spectrum Decorating Services won the contract to re-paint a large purpose built block of appartments in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

In order to complete the job we needed to scaffold the entire building to access all areas.

The project was taken on late in the year so we decided to use netting to give some protection to the building whilst painting.

As we love to use colour at Spectrum Decorating Services we opted for each level to be netted in a bright colour to make it look a little more interesting.

External Decorations in Langton Green, Kent

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

Spectrum Decorating Services have just finished a project in Langton Green, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

The project was to re-decorate the property front to create a much better kerb appeal.

The property front had suffered a hard life being directly on a main road. As a result the beige coloured walls and pillars were looking very tired so in order to revive them a Dulux Trade Weathershield Masonary Paint in Brilliant White was applied.

Once we had tackled the walls and pillars we moved our focus onto the gates.  After the preparation and undercoats we applied an external gloss by Farrow & Ball.  The colour, chosen by our client, is Studio Green.

Please contact us if you have a similar project.

The images below show before and after.
